Round The Island Race

The JP Morgan Round the Island race is one of the most exciting events of the year. Each year approximately 1,700 yachts consisting of amateurs and fully fledged professional team’s line up to race the sixty mile course around the Isle of Wight. Experiencing that many yachts around you is an amazing spectacle and provides a lasting memory.

We have space on our yachts for individuals who want to experience the excitement of this annual event. We have put together a three day program offering a very competitive package providing a wonderful mix of racing, fun and socials. You will join the yacht on the Friday morning for breakfast before departing for a day of training with your race skipper for the weekend. You will concentrate on teamwork and maximising boat speed in preparation for the race.

After the evening de-brief it is time for an early dinner at one of the many restaurants in Cowes and then to bed. The race starts very early on the Saturday morning and so an early turn in on the Friday night is essential for success but don’t be put off, there is plenty of partying to be had on Saturday after the race. Sunday is a day to recover and nurse aching muscles by a cruise back to the Hamble.

Round the Island Race is ideal for anyone who wants to enjoy the excitement and fun of a major event whilst learning new skills. It is a superb spectacle and one not to be missed.
